"Look What Happens When We All Work Together”
Collaboration Personified!
In conjuction with Pearl Ministries Inc, The Blessing Barn Ministries, Gift and Kind, Foodlink, and some very giving women in Penfield NY, 100 families had a brighter holiday season this year. Dr. Rita Gaither, acting as a holiday gift-giving broker, coordinated efforts from many to make this happen. Thomas Jefferson High School has the largest population of ESOL students in the Rochester City School District as well as many families who are in poverty. Under the direction of Principal Mary Andrecolich-Diaz, the staff at Thomas Jefferson once again provided the opportunity for the students and their families to enjoy another holiday celebration at the school.

Last year during Christmas the Jefferson families were beneficiaries of an annual holiday party hosted by Penfield resident Maura McGrath. Dr. Gaither attended the party and received some 80 gifts that were donated by the attendees of the party. Along with these gifts Melissa, another Penfield resident and friend to Ms. McGrath, advised Dr. Gaither that she and her friends in Penfield were going to collect enough items to fill 100 donated Wegman’s tote bags to hand out at the Christmas celebration at Jefferson.
This year Melissa and her friends came through again and dropped off 100 donated tote bags filled with food items, personal hygiene products and gift items for families in need. Dr. Gaither and the Parent/Teacher Organization at Jefferson made sure that the first 100 families who attended the celebration at the school received a holiday gift bag. It really is a wonderful life when people find it in their hearts to work together and give to those who are less fortunate.
Food Distribution
Pearl Ministries Inc. does food distribution projects during the holiday season and throughout the year.
